Long Term Substitute Teacher-Lake Program (9-11 year olds)

Wingra School is seeking a long term substitute teacher to teach children ages 9-11 in a multi-age classroom, in a team teaching structure. This is a 100% position, working full days, Monday through Friday and includes creating integrated curriculum, assessing students authentically, communicating with families, and being a part of a collaborative community of educators and families. This position is a limited term employment – the start date will be March 1st with overlap allotted with the current Lake Teacher. The position will carry through the end of the school year.
We are searching for a strong candidate with a passion for education, learning, and child development. A special interest in progressive education is a plus, as well as an appreciation for collaboration, creativity, reflection, flexibility, diversity, and inclusion. A successful candidate will embody enthusiasm for a complex job as well as resourcefulness, organization skills, and an inquisitive, open mind.

- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and to communicate effectively with parents
- Understanding of progressive philosophy and teaching methods
- Experience in teaching an integrated curriculum a strong plus
- Experience in addressing equity and diversity issues
- Bachelor’s degree, in education and child development
- Classroom experience at the elementary childhood or middle school level (preferred)
- Teaching License (preferred)
Salary Information
Position is from March 1 through June 18, 2021
Salary range = $34,000 – $36,000, plus $10,800 in Cafeteria Benefit money
