Tower Hill School is seeking a Visual Arts Teacher to begin in August 2022. The successful candidate will support our vibrant arts program and our community in an engaging and meaningful way in line with the mission and goals of Tower Hill School. This position will include teaching Middle School art classes, Upper School ceramics, and managing our ceramics studio. This is a full-time, benefitted, 10-month position.
Teaching Ceramics sections each semester in the Upper School
Teaching Middle School art classes
Assist with student supervision and chaperoning
Serving as an advisor for up to 10 students
Participate in faculty collaborations and meetings
Manage and oversee a ceramics studio

Qualifications and Skills:
Experience and demonstrated interest in teaching Ceramics and Studio art
Bachelor’s degree or MFA in Visual Arts, Education, or related field
Ability to manage and oversee a busy ceramics studio
Sensitivity to the developmental stages and well-being of children
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal
Enthusiasm for professional growth, academic excellence and creative teaching
Ability to plan and organize educational content
Commitment to broad participation in school life
Experience in and commitment to the ongoing development and maintenance of an inclusive campus community
Ability to safely lift and move moderately heavy objects frequently
