Frederica Academy is a Pre-K – 12th Grade independent school located on St. Simons Island, GA. Frederica Academy seeks an Upper School Math Instructor, a 10-month faculty position, to begin in August 2022. Interested applicants should be able to teach one of more of the following: Algebra I & II, Geometry, Statistics, Calculus, and/or related AP
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop the curriculum materials, syllabus, outlines and assessments.
Conduct after-school tutorial as scheduled
Be involved in the life of the school, beyond the classroom (coaching and/or advisory to an organization of student leadership)
Participate in all advisory, faculty and department meetings as called
Complete required Human Resources trainings each year (CPR, first aid, mandatory reporting, etc.)
Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the Upper School Director or Head of School
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. Master’s degree is preferred.
A strong desire to work in a collaborative community.
Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness to a variety of learning styles and a range of abilities.
Ethical behavior, professionalism and a respect for diversity.
Preferable to have multiple years of Upper School experience in an independent school atmosphere.
